Jose Leal also called as Ze , 26 years old, administrator and percussionist. He was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.José’s history with percussion began at age 11, in his home city of Salvador. In Salvador many people play percussion, and Jose’s learning began impromptu on the streets of his hometown. After developing his skills José went on to play with ‘Tio Barnabé’, one of the most famous groups in North Eastern Brazil specialising in forró. While with ‘Tio Barnabé’ he played in concerts of 2000 – 90 000 fans, and supported famous groups in Brazil such as Timbalada, Ivete Sangalo, Chiclete Com Banana, Estakazero, Falamansa, as well as the internationally famous group Olodum. In February 2008 he came to New Zealand, and started playing with wellington Batucada, Brazealand and Roda de Samba,Sam Manzanza,Funk Junk.
