Funk Junk at the Southern Cross

Jose’ Leal also heads a new group in Wellington called ‘Funk Junk’, which plays Brazilian rhythms on recycled instruments. ‘Funk Junk’ made their first formal appearance at bar Bodega at a Cuban Hurricane relief concert, and later played at the Spring Carnival at the Southern Cross. Using recycled instruments to play percussion is innovative and exciting, and can easily be incorporated into a teaching or workshop programme designed for you.
